Workforce Diversity Policy
Capital has supported me to learn about drilling operations, especially the reverse circulation (RC) and grade control (GC) rigs. I’m very proud to work with an international drilling Company where all employees are equal, a company that trains employees to be brother’s and sister’s, with a high-quality safety culture.
Training and Development
We have a long history of investing substantially in professional development and training for our employees.
We actively identify areas that develop or provide new skills and initiate training modules requiring both a theoretical and, where relevant, practical assessment. Our wide range of programmes and initiatives is accessible to all employees and covers operational and mandatory training, HSSE, mechanical and leadership training.
First D65 Training Simulator in Africa
We have installed Africa’s first D65 Blast Hole simulator unit in Tanzania to assist with building capability, safety and productivity.
The simulator enables crews to practice not only practical day-to-day scenarios, but also those that can be high-risk in real life, providing a safe and productive learning environment. It will also assist improve our crews capabilities without affecting productivity, machine utilization, or availability.
Our drillers are embracing the technology and are excited to be the first in Africa to handle this equipment.
Improving access to learning
Our online Learning Management System (LMS) allows employees to access voluntary and mandatory inductions and training on a wide range of topics from any location, 365 days a year.
This blended learning system includes the online e-learning portal providing training, learner assessments and a trainer to validate, ensuring employees can continue their development, regardless of location.
Responsible Employment
We’re committed to creating a positive employee experience and our stable attrition rates are the result of support for long-term career growth, fair compensation and benefits, and initiatives that foster satisfaction and strong employee relations.
Our approach is guided by the Social Accountability 8000 International Standard (SA 8000 standard), and we undergo annual external audits through the Social Responsibility and Compliance Initiative Management System (SCRIMS) to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
