Supercharging our partnership with Epiroc – Shaping the Future of Mining

For us, sustainability isn’t a buzzword for us; it’s a mission we’re hard-wired to work towards every day. That’s why we’re proud to have taken our longstanding partnership with Epiroc to the next level, working with them to develop the world’s first battery-electric surface drill rig.

This groundbreaking innovation is a game-changing step toward cleaner, smarter mining – not just for Capital, but for the whole industry. The rig is currently undergoing final testing in Canada before heading to our Sukari operation in Egypt for field testing. Throughout the development process, our teams worked closely with Epiroc, giving feedback, solving operational problems, and helping to shape final decisions.

Epiroc collaboration site visit 02

In August, Tony Woolfe, General Manager – Assets, Maintenance and Supply Chain, visited the Epiroc facilities in Fagersta, Sweden, to catch up with Epiroc leaders including Pavel Vedeneev (Regional Business Development Manager), Mansoor Eskandanian (General Manager, Epiroc Middle East), and Carl Lager (Key Account Manager). The visit was an opportunity to review ongoing cooperation, explore new possibilities for the future, which we are looking forward to continuing to work towards.

Additionally, Executive Chair Jamie Boyton, together with Tony, met with Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom and her leadership team at Epiroc’s global headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, where they toured Epiroc’s remarkable underground test mine – 3.5km of active where cutting-edge equipment is trialed in real-world conditions.
