Capital is pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation protocol with Al Youm Al Wahed Marsa Alam Government Hospital, reinforcing our commitment to improving access to essential healthcare services for local communities.

The agreement was signed by Mahmoud Ossama Negm on behalf of Capital, in the presence of key local and industry stakeholders including:

  • Sheikh Gaberil, Member of Parliament for Marsa Alam
  • Major General Hossam Helmy, Head of Marsa Shagara Village
  • Dr. Sayed Khattab, Director of Marsa Alam One-Day Surgery Hospital
  • Mr. Sameh El-Feki, Sustainability Officer, AngloGold Ashanti

Capital was also represented by Hadeer A. Maksoud at the signing.

Improving access to specialist medical care

Under the protocol, we will sponsor transportation costs for specialist consulting physicians to visit Marsa Alam Government Hospital once per month commencing from December 2025.

This initiative addresses a critical healthcare gap by providing access to a medical specialty not currently available at the hospital. During each monthly visit, the specialist doctor, accompanied by an assistant, will spend one week conducting consultations, examinations, and delivering essential medical care to residents of Marsa Alam and surrounding villages.

We are working in collaboration with our client AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), who will manage agreements with the visiting doctor and assistant, as well as accommodation during each visit. Capital will be responsible for arranging and providing transportation to and from Marsa Alam for the visiting medical team.

As part of the agreement, we are also supporting the hospital through the provision of essential medical equipment to strengthen local clinical capacity.

Commitment to community wellbeing

This initiative will provide tangible, long-term benefits to the regional health system while supporting frontline healthcare delivery. It reflects Capital’s ongoing commitment to community development, social responsibility, and partnerships that deliver meaningful outcomes for local communities, in particular improving access to healthcare services and medical equipment.
